SATURDAY WALKS
ERC is now starting a regular walking program: One Saturday per
month through spring, summer and autumn. Each walk will be approx 10
Miles starting at 9:00am, out in the countryside, off road and at a
relatively easy pace !! These will run rain or shine.
Optional drink/lunch at a pub afterwards Walking boots or shoes
advisable, waterproofs and flask of coffee/other drink/fruit/cake
(we will stop for a coffee break at half way point) Contact Tim or

March 13th: Millbury's (Nr Cheriton)
Last Saturday
sure the first walk for the Eastleigh RC walking club March 13th,
which was very well attended with 16 people, who came out to enjoy
the sunshine. The route passed through some of the most scenic
villages of Hampshire, Kilmiston, Hinton Ampner, Cheriton. The next
walk is the 9th April
starting from White Lion in Soberton. If you would like some more

April 10th: White Lion at Soberton
The Next Saturday Walk:
9:00am April 10th, Soberton Meet at White Lion pub at Soberton,
(park beside the green by the pub and church)
Directions: (20 mins drive
from Eastleigh) From Eastleigh, drive to Bishop Waltham. At main
roundabout, take the
B3035 to Corhampton. At
Corhampton, take the A32 Southbound towards Droxford (signed
Wickham, Fareham). One mile after passing through Droxford, take a
left to Soberton (signed Soberton) You will need:
Walking boots, Waterproofs
and flask of coffee/other drink/fruit/cake (we will stop for a
coffee break at half way point) Walk details:
Start 9:00am, Follow River
Meon northwards to Meonstoke, Turn east and climb Old Winchester
Hill. Coffee break at the top. Head South across the Downs to
Soberton arriving back at the pub by 1:00pm. (approx 10
miles)
May 1st: Titchborne Arms (nr New Alresford)
Directions:
(20 mins drive from Eastleigh) From Eastleigh, Take M3 North and
leave at Junction 10. Take A31 east in the direction of New
Alresford/Alton. As you approach New Alresford on the A31 you come
to a roundabout, take the New Alresford exit. After 400meres, take
the next right signposted Titchborne. Follow this road until you
reach Titchborne (approx 1 mile). The Titchborne Arms is on the left
hand side as you drive thru' the village. You will need:
Walking
boots, Waterproofs and flask of coffee/other drink/fruit/cake (we
will stop for a coffee break at half way point) Walk details:
Start 9:00am,
Walk across the fields to Ovington, follow River Itchen to Itchen
Abbas, then up on to the downs along the Wayfarers way into New
Alresford. Back to Titchborne arriving at the pub by 1:00pm (approx

Saturday Walk: 9:00am June 5th,
Horsebridge
Meet at
John O Gaunt Inn, (park in the Test way Car park
immediately opposite the pub)
Directions:
(30 mins drive from Eastleigh) From Eastleigh, drive to Romsey. Take
A3057 north up the Test Valley in the direction of
Stockbridge/Andover for 5 miles Passing through Timsbury and
passing the Bear and Ragged staff pub. After passing through Brook,
take the next left sign posted Horsebridge/Houghton.Follow this
small road for 1 miles until reaching junction in centre of
Horsbridge, turn left, pub is on the right

need:Walking boots, Waterproofs and flask of coffee/other
drink/fruit/cake (we will stop for a coffee break at half way point)
Walk details:Start 9:00am,
Walk across the fields to Kings Somborne, follow Clarendon Way to
Farley Mount, return via the woods to Horsebridge. Arriving at the
pub by 1:00pm (approx 10 miles) Tim Johnson
Saturday Walk: 9:00am July 3rd,
Southwick
Meet at
Southwick Brewhouse, PO17 6EB (park in Car park by recycling bins)
Directions: (30 mins drive from
Eastleigh) From Eastleigh, drive to Wickham. In Wickham follow signs
to Southwick via B2177. As you approach Southwick on the B2177,
don't take the first turning to Southwick. Instead continue on B2177
until reaching a roundabout then take first left signed to
Southwick. Then take next right (signed Southwick Brewhouse) and
follow road around back of village to car park You will need:
Walking boots, waterproofs and flask of coffee/other
drink/fruit/cake (we will stop for a coffee break at half way point)
Walk details: Start 9:00am, Walk across the fields to Nelson's
Monument on Portsdown Hill, then walk along top of Portsdown Hill
past the forts with views over the Solent and Southdowns. Then back
across fields and woods to Southwick. Arriving at the Golden Lion

WEDNESDAY PUB RUNS
These
runs are very socialable. We meet at a pub, all abilities are
welcome. We go for a run for about 4-5 miles mostly off road, and
then return back to the pub for a drink and a chat with friends. We
look forward to seeing some of you then.
