Marwell Wildlife 10k and Fun Run 2011 - Sunday 22nd May - 10.30

UKA Licence 2011-101418   Certificate of Course Accuracy 10/184

Congratulations to you all. We hope you have had a wonderful day.

2011 Results Here or in a basic format Here.

After last year’s hot temperatures our 2011 runners enjoyed cooler conditions and the odd shower. Returning to his winning ways, James Baker (Chichester Runners) was the runaway winner equalling last year’s course record of 32.25. Ryan Brookling took second place, with Daryl Hards in third (whose Uncle, Barry went on to take the M50 category prize).

After finishing third last year, Kate Towerton (Hampshire Police) triumphed in the women’s race with a time of 40.44 with Ruth Jones in second and Helen Cartwright third.

There were age category wins for Neil Richmond (M40), Barry Hards (M50), Dave Saunders (M60), for the second year running - Tony Crowther (M70), Shelly Dodds (F35), Sally Bowry (F45), Nicola Dale (F55) and Pat McDonald (F65).

Winchester AC took the ladies club prize, whilst Lordshill Runners claimed first spot for the men.

Our Team Award this year goes to the team from DCPG MOD down in Portsmouth.

Fun Run

Our Fun Run winners this year show that running so often – well – runs in the family. Daniel Brookling was our first boy (with dad Ryan 2nd in the 10k) and Maisie Grice succeeded sister Evie, by being the first girl home.

A special team award was given to the Arundel Court Junior School Running Club – for being probably the youngest club we’ve had take part in our events.

And a special award was presented to Owslebury Primary School in recognition not just of all the children that take part in the event but also to say thank you for all the wonderful artwork they provide around our course.

*some of out runner didn’t actually hand in the pink position slips – where you on of those? If so get in touch marwell10k@yahoo.co.uk
