We are delighted that you want to find out more about our friendly running club which is based at Places for People Leisure (formerly Fleming Park Leisure Centre). Please come along and participate in a few sessions for a couple of weeks before you join.
Eastleigh RC caters for all ages and abilities from 18 upwards. You are never too old!! There are lots of opportunities to achieve your running and athletic goals, whether it is serious competition or just running for fun. Our experienced, knowledgeable, England Athletics qualified coaches and approved run leaders provide an excellent variety of training opportunities.
Our principal club nights are Monday and Thursday when we meet at 7pm prompt at Places for People Leisure, Passfield Avenue, Eastleigh, SO50 9NL. We also meet on a Tuesday evening 7 pm prompt, at Knightwood Leisure Centre, Valley Park, Chandlers Ford, SO53 4SJ. Other sessions track, intervals, group led runs etc. are also on offer.
A typical week’s activities might be:-
Monday – Group runs of varying pace and distances
Tuesday – Coached speed, interval sessions in Chandlers Ford along with some group runs. Speed training at Southampton Track happens at certain times of the year.
Thursday – Group runs of varying pace and distances along with a coached speed or strength session.
Saturday – Coached speed/strength training either at the Track or off-road
Sunday – Informal group endurance runs of varying pace and distances usually off-road or take part in a competition /racing like many of our members.
Each week’s schedule of activities is published in our weekly newsletter which is emailed to paid-up members.
Members meet in the bar at the Fleming Park Bowls Club adjacent to the Leisure Centre’s car park for a drink and a social chat on Thursday evenings after training session. You are very welcome to come along and join us.
If you wish to come along to the club to try before you buy please contact us using the form on this page so that we can meet you at one of our sessions. It is best to arrive 10 minutes before our start time of 7pm.
If you are joining us at Places for People Leisure, then we recommend you arrive at 6:45 as the car park can be very busy. We meet at the front of Leisure Centre near the Cycle stands, you cannot miss us as some will be wearing the club colours – Orange!
